Rachel Quickenden birth coach pregnant with second baby

Congratulations on your pregnancy! How are you feeling?

Pregnancy and those early baby days come with a rollercoaster of emotions, don't they? The excitement is so often interspersed with feelings of anxiety, fear, exhaustion and overwhelm at just how much new stuff there is to get your head around with this massive life change.

I've been through pregnancy, birth and the post-natal whirlwind twice and I really do get how you're feeling. It's BIG! But I wan't you to know that it is possible to navigate it calmly and with confidence - in yourself, your body and your baby.

I am Rachel Quickenden DipHB(KGH), a qualified hypnobirthing & antenatal practitioner, from Tonbridge, Kent. I trained with KGHypnobirthing on a training course accredited by the Royal College of Midwives. I am also a Mindful Breastfeeding practitioner, having trained with the Mindful Breastfeeding School. My other most important qualification is that I am a mum of two.

I have experienced two different births, in different environments, one with hypnobirthing and one without (hop over to my Positive Birth Stories to have a read of my second birth!) I have seen and experienced the difference that hypnobirthing made for me. I have breastfed both my boys and have experienced the ups and downs that come with any breastfeeding journey!

I now realise that many antenatal courses barely skim the surface of what you need to know. Yes, birth and breastfeeding are natural - but we still need to understand how they work. Because otherwise we unknowingly interfere with the process. Your mindset, emotions, physical positioning, environment and support all play a part.

Understanding how your body works means you can actually support it to give birth and breastfeed your baby - feeling calmer, more confident, and more comfortable, and ultimately looking back on birth and the post-natal period much more positively.

I know you have doubts about whether you can really feel like that. About whether things can really be different for you. With all the negative stories you've heard about birth and breastfeeding its unsurprising that you think of them as scary, painful, stressful experiences.

But that's not how it has to be for you.

I love nothing more than supporting people to have a birth in which they feel totally calm and in control. A birth in which they feel empowered - where they know they are the most important person in the room. A breastfeeding journey in which they feel confident and positive.

I can help you get there.

I am based in Tonbridge, Kent and teach face to face in Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas. I also teach online via zoom, so you can prepare with me for the birth of your baby from anywhere in the world!

If you would like to learn more, book in for a free 30 minute call and let's have a chat about how I can help you, your partner and your baby to have a calm, positive start to parenthood.
